I' ve used Academy 1:48 kit.

An old, bad ,inaccurate model of beautiful and deadly tank.

Here are changes I've made to make a model from this toy:
-zimmerit made of clay
-metal tracks
-added details on turret and fuselage
-photoetched fenders
-new tow ropes
-modyfied drive wheels
-added wheels (model had 8 per side , should be 9 per side)
-new decals

And here is finished model:

Nice work!

What was the story with the real world one?  Was it just trailed or was it actually used operationally ( there were instances of captured tanks being used after all).

This particular King Tiger from the 2.Kompanie/schwere Panzer Abteilung 506 was captured by American troops in Gereonsweiler,Germany and restored to running condition by Company B, 129th Ordnance Battalion by 15 December. This is all I know about it. I think this was one last ride of this tank under USA markings and then it was destroyed.

That turned out really nice. Even more impressive considering the somewhat "iffy" kit you started with.

Another fine build.  I like it.   :D
Are we seeing 75mm (maybe 37mm) impacts on left front side of turret ?
