WIP 1/48 F-14D
« on: July 25, 2013, 06:13:26 AM »
It's been too long since I've last gotten on.
I wanted to build the F-14 that I always fly on Ace Combat with it's custom Midnight Blue body with Silver stripes.
The kit is a 1/48 Hasegawa F-14D.

Thanks a lot Brian!
Although I think I could've done better I'm very satisfied with how it's coming along.
It's bit of a difficult kit to build. I miss the wing synchronization like Monograms or Academy's kits.

Such a cockpit - super job  :)
F-14 paint is yet another "I never would have thought of that scheme on that subject" model.
Enjoy seeing your different look F-14 come out so well.  Looks cool that way.  8)
Stripe sweep along side to nose has style.  All-n-All a sinister-stylish appearance.
Awaiting more pictures.

Thanks!
I just got the tailhook painted and working on the lights.
The canopy is ALWAYS the fun part  :icon_nif:
They designed it to be open only so I had to mod it slightly.
I'll post some pics soon!

Well this turned into a proud addition to my collection along with a Witty Wings 1/72 F-14B from VF-103.
Sorry about the photos, they're not the best but it's a dark plane all round.

Thanks for looking,
Michael

Nice scheme  :) Really sharp. Airbrushed?

Oh no, this thing was paint brushed on. No spraying except for the glosscote.

Good - more photos.
Would not thought of dark blue & light blue trim on F-14.  A different look that works.  Always liked dark blue WW2 to 50s on Navy aircraft.  Black(?) 3/4 circle at rear of engines also looks "right"  8)

Looking very nice in that blue scheme!
