The most tedious part of the build: R-37 missile fins attached. I also cut the wings off so I can re-position them, felt they were maybe a bit too far back.

Also a question for the experts (both real and armchair). Is it possible to launch a missile from a plane at supersonic speeds. Say for example the bomb bay doors retract inwards and missiles are lowered by trapeze mechanism.

For what you are trying to do with your model, the method of high-speed launch from the weapons bay of the aircraft is achieved by ejecting the missile down and away from the aircraft to gain sufficient distance from the aircraft to then ignite the rocket motor and begin the intended mission.

Kerick:
The F-102 and F-106 had such a trapeze device for the Falcon missile. However, the doors opened outward.
