Developed by MiG to use the newly available RR Nene engine, the Mig 14 was a significant improvement over the early Mig 9 and was put into production. Only about 500 units were produced before the new swept wing Mig 15 was ready for production. It was roughly in the same class, performance, and mission as the early USAF F-84 and the French Dassault Ouragon.  The aircraft shown was flown by the Mongolian AF and used against pirates on the Great Mongolian Sea in the late 1940's.
