I guess since I finished this I better post it here before time runs out!

Back in 2003 the Alabama Slammer was cooked up and built on their own time by the deployed mechanics from Anniston Army Depot in Alabama. An M800 series truck (a dump truck frame I think) and an unserviceable M113 hull were joined in the middle of the night. This was the time frame of troops building "hillbilly" armor on anything that moved to combat the start of the insurgent warfare. This much is true. This build represents what might have happened if the Slammer had been allowed to hit the roads.

Hi,
Here is a pic of my finished build of a Vultee Vengeance refitted with a modified Grumman Hellcat wing (with dive breaks from the Vengenance), in order to try and make the plane carrier capable.  I also added a tail hook as well.  :smiley:
