Havoc in work
« on: January 09, 2013, 07:09:48 AM »
Hokey smokes!!! Is it even possible? Zod is building a flying thing? :o

I got this Testors/Italeri 1/72 Havoc as a Christmas gift. It will be a zombie slayer. Gonna paint it Tamiya field blue. Can stuff like Future floor wax,and clear overcoats be put on clear parts?

Future is good stuff for clear parts but don't use any kind of oil or laquer or spray clear coats.

Thanks Sotoolsinger. I always use acrylic overcoats. I was thinking of dipping  the clear parts in future first, before I painted the parts that are the same as the body color.

Wait...where are the treads? Are they hiding?

I don't see a glacis plate either.

Are you sure you're feeling ok, Zod?

Seriously though, this one will be loads of fun to watch!

What can I say? I had to build something different.

Hey Zod, Hopefully the main rotor is not glued in yet... helicopter models are problematic for display, the blades have a tendency to sag. If you can take the main rotor off and store it balanced on the hub UPSIDE DOWN so if you ever take it to a show it dosen't look like the blades melted :)

Thanks for the advice. :) I did glue the hub on. This is basically a practice helicopter.

Helicopter models are uneasy to build, I remember (from the 1970s...). Congratulations for this one.

Coming along nicely there on your Havoc.

What color wash would be good for this?
