I wanted something different than the prototype livery.

An old photo of a Blackburn Beverly was my inspiration. I think the Rotodyne would have been a workhorse in RAF service in the Middle East back when the Beatles were in their heyday.
Mine is in markings of 18 Squadron, RAF.

Construction is almost OOB. I used salvaged Airfix C-130 propellers because they looked beefier than the kit items.

The model is brush-painted with Humbrol and Testors enamels.

Sparesbox decals were used.

I like this beast in warpaint. It was a fun build.
Adios, Larry.

Was thinking C-130/P-3 when first saw props. Is like Rotodyne otta be.
Color scheme looks the part + with white to reduce heating. Is there a clear coat finish ?

Top marks that man, brilliant what if and the prop change is so subtle and yet a big part of making it work.
100% full on realistic what if.
And the trophy goes to...

Super and correct RW appearance. Be cool with other RAF aircraft on flight line 1/1 or 1/72 diorama. 8)
BTS has other Rotodyne builds posted couple years ago or so.
