Hi folks,
Here are the Rules of the "Anything Goes"/"Strut Your Stuff"/"Introductory" Group Build:
- Have Fun!!!
- As the name says, any theme is permissible - you name it, just do it in the timeframe. Preferably you do your favourite type of theme be that land based, aircraft, ship, space, figure, real world or whiff. Any medium - so physical models, Pixels/profiles and stories (and anything else if you can think of it) are all welcome.
- Creativity encouraged as is collaboration
- Duration is 1 Feb 2012 to 31 Mar 2012. An extension may be granted, but only a short one and only if the Moderator (me) feels like it.
- There will be prizes! Physical creations and pixels/stories will be judged separately
- Any questions are to be directed to the Moderator (me again!)
- See rule 1
Regards,
Greg

I've never successfully participated in a Group Build before...would my UCAV make it in under the rules? Or did I have the misfortune of starting it too soon?
-
I'm in.

How far ( % wise) do you believe you are towards finishing it?
-
I'm committed to things elsewhere in exactly the same time frame unfortunately, but I will put something in if I get the chance.

I am kind of curious on this one as well Greg, I can PM you pics and you can tell me but I need to know how far along an entry can be before it is ineligible... (why must we make even simple GB themes so hard! ;))
-
I've got a project in mind, but I don't think two months will be long enough for me. Firstly, because the kit is in the care of Canada Customs ----- in Toronto --- 2500 miles away :icon_bofh:
I don't think I'll get it for another two weeks or more plus the build will take a while too.
-
I'm still in the "drink beer and figure something out" phase.

You're not alone Brian *cracks open another beer*
Are previously started builds acceptable? I'm working on a scratch built navy diorama (small landing ships/escorts) with several of each involved. One ship is about %40 or so complete with one or two but the rest are unstarted. If it's OK I'm in with that, if not...back to the idea notebook.

Guys,
I am prepared to allow previously started builds into this GB. I hadn't really thought of any set rule per sae, but I suppose something along the lines of 25 - 30% complete or less would be ok but anything more is probably pushing it.
I am happy to take correspondence (PMs) on the matter too.
Regards,
Greg
P.S. There will be a GB at the end of the year where, having already started will be a compulsory entry requirement...

I'd say a legit 30% is done. The bomb bay and wings are the only items actually glued on the airframe - I still have the nose, tail, landing gear, weapons themselves, paint and markings to go.
Not trying to cause drama with this, just thought the GB would be a good driving force to get this completed.
-
Do we post our progress pics in the regular forum or will there be a special build section? If posting in the regular section should we put group build entry in the title?

No drama. Based on your estimate, I am happy to let it be entered. :)

You should be able to simply start a new topic/thread (your build thread) in the "Anything Goes"/"Strut Your Stuff"/"Introductory" Group Build (http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?board=21.0) sub directory. If you can't please let me know.
Regards,
Greg

Excellent. Then I am officially in the GB!

I'm building an X-wing with custom paint. It has only base colours. Can I enter the GB with it?

Do you have a photo you could share - one showing how much is done already?

Here it is:

Hmmm....how far complete would you say it is (bearing in mind what I have posted in Reply #12 above)? When did you start it?
-
Well , I've read Reply #12 carefully. Sadly , it's about 40% complete...No I'll place a WIP with X-wing not in GB topic :)

Sorry - I was looking for a way to let it in, but I think that might be pushing it this time around. Mind you, don't forget that there is a GB at the end of the year that would be able to have it...maybe.

OK , no problem:)

1 month down...1 to go! >:(
-
I only joined the forum yesterday but as the GB still has nearly a month to go I might have time to fit something in.

Greg-
I need a quick ruling. I wanted to do a triple for this GB, land, air, and sea...but my 'sea' kit
is a started project, the former CSS Albemarle resin kit from Lone Star models. I had already glued the
hull halves together ( top and bottom-which is pretty much the whole structure ) but had pretty much
kludged the sanding, so the mating of the two was pretty wretched. I had a brainstorm over the
weekend, involving angle iron, and decided to finish her as the first flagship of the Science Pirate
Syndicate, the SPS Ma'am Eater. Its also goign to be a hydro foil. While the bulk of the 'assembly'
is complete, I'd like to enter it, but wanted to run it by you before I posted anything.

I'm in a good mood so you can be in.

Thanks, man-you're my kind of evil administrator! Pics by wednesday.
