Remember this... Claymore Ferret Mk V with Swingfire

Claymore Ferret Build

Being a superb gentleman, he very kindly sent me the .STL files, so I could have a crack. Got them printed off and after... lets say 10 months later... finally off the Shelf-o-doom.

Here is my offering using the files as supplied

I used the Airfix kit decals, which upon closer inspection are bit whiffy in themselves. Notice the flag, this is the flag pre 1707 it has no Cross of St Patrick

Or do they know something we don't

I recently bought a set of Eduard Brassin 1/72 bang seats for the Canadian Interceptor. What’s the best paint to cover well and not glob it up and lose the details I paid good money for? I was thinking of brush painting because of the different colors involved. Practically every part is a different color. Testors is not even on the list as a possible candidate. Acrylics would probably be better as they seem to dry to a thinner layer of paint than enamels. Less likely to bury details that way. What do you think?

Another problem I just discovered. I left the canopy in the small bag it came it to keep it from getting damaged on my desk. I got it out yesterday to see if the resin seats would sit low enough. That’s when I notice a few little spots on it. I tried robbing it off then scraping it off with my fingernail but no result. If I look closely it appears the spots are within the clear plastic. Anyone ever have that happen before. I wonder if Italeri would replace the part?

Double red means severe hazard, beach closed. The bottom is supposed to be purple but the “violet” paint I had thought otherwise. Purple means an hazard like jellyfish or sharks. Which is why Pugsley and Wednesday were so disappointed. They were hoping for sharks.

Thanks for that, Apophenia! I was unaware of the J-34 on RCAF Neptunes, much less the proposal for the CC-119s. I chose the J-85 from the USAF's C-123K upgrade. I think I will make the recommended change in the back story (without changing the drawing). BTW, the external tanks also came from the C-123K, and the skis are modeled on those of the DC-3.
