Colonial Viper TOS - Revell 1/32
« on: January 10, 2021, 11:19:29 PM »
Hello!

This niught I've finished 1/32 Colonial Viper by Revell.
It's a real dog of a kit - almost without cockpit details and nightmare to rescribe. Good thing - it fits pretty well.
Engines are backlighted with three blue LEDs.
Painted as usual - Tamiya, Gunze and AK Interactive.
Heavily weathered with three-tone scratches.

Sickening, weakening
Don't let another somber pariah consume your soul
You need strengthening, toughening
It takes a bit of dark to rekindle the fire burning in you
Ignite the fire within you

Artistry ! You have captured it most excellently, the finish is superb.
Great job, a favourite since the original series.

May be of interest, the original release of this and the Cylon Raider (which I have both) included a great gimmick of rubber band firing "missiles". Or course these were deleted in later releases of the kit for obvious reasons, plus the Viper had a solid canopy, no interior detail whatsoever.

Thanks :) Original series was...well...original. Viper Mk II from new incarnation of BSG is a worthy successor but Mk VII? No...just no.

Thank you! Even late re-release has a hole in front scope for that missile :)
