on this prior to WWII.

That's an absolutely lovely ship. One thing this thread has done is allowed me to become reacquainted with, and gain a renewed appreciation of Norman Bel Geddes' design work. This is the style and era of design that appeals to me the most.

I bought that one and it's a fascinating read.  I really need to see if there are equivalent books on the work of Raymond Loewy and Henry Dreyfuss.

Jomar Machado's "Hover Scout" is cool with the obvious steam locomotive inspiration. I wouldn't even begin to try and figure out how it would work but it would be fun to build a model of it.

I have all three you have mentioned, I also now have Raymond Loewy, Pioneer of American Industrial Design and Design Heroes; Raymond Loewy.  I should also note from experience that Never Leave Well Enough Alone! was also published as Raymond Loewy and Streamlined Design as I now have a copy of each title.
