They do look cool, always thought the Mangusta would be nice paired with the Lynx in composite squadrons or even flights, sort of like the USMCs AH-1 / UH-1 squadrons, the US Army's Attack Battalions, or Air Cavalry Squadrons.  I imagined an Air Cavalry Sqn with nine Mangustas and six Lynx to support the cavalry as part of one of my scenarios.  The original Gem powered aircraft would of course be replaced with LHTEC T800 powered A129 International and Battlefield Lynx variants down the track. 

Just a personal belief that a small army like Australias would do well to have a such a composite squadron supporting the cavalry rather than just light scout helicopters or armed reconnaissance helicopters.

Saw a pair of UH-1Y in the air today, much, much quieter than anything resembling a Huey I've ever seen before, I could be mistaken but it even seem quieter than an Blackhawk.

In contrast, I saw a single-engine Huey this afternoon, and it was the noisiest thing I'd heard in a long time. The whine of the turbine and the WHOP-WHOP of the rotors filled the sky. There was a construction crew working across the street, and the helicopter noise drowned out their heavy machines.

I think some sort of Nazi ground attack aircraft should be in order, probably not a conventional helicopter as it would be far too vulnerable to attack

You can enjoy that old familiar sound at home if you put a couple pairs of tennis shoes/running shoes in your dryer.  Sit back and enjoy the same sounds without leaving your house :)

Possibly, but I've always thought that the wespe and the lerche would never have been particularly successful in the ground attack role, might be too unstable horizontally, for a gun platform, not enough range and not enough room to mount extra gun or rocket pods..... Would also probably be too complicated for a surviving German resistance to manufacture. Non of this is based on fact, just my own personal opinions
