were gonna need a bigger boat
« on: October 22, 2013, 03:31:36 AM »
im doing an ongoing theme with an extra power in the mix
atlantia is a very mysterious apparently neutral and apparently very potent power.
history runs pretty much as it has in the real world and everybody is wary of mixing it up with atlantia

in 1943 while going somewhere they shouldnt have been (atlantian waters) force y consisting of warspite kgV and 2 destroyers came under indirect fire by an unknown vessel.
after quickly deciding it would be better to be somewhere else they sent what little information they had back to blighty.
heres a rough summary of the messege

unknown vessel spotted at 06:30 at 23000 yards incoming shell splashes at 06:40 we disengaged hastily as per orders and retreated.

the range finders only got a brief glimpse of the actual ship but it appears to have been an enormous battlecruiser or battleship estimated to be 1200ft+ in length

the navy never made a serious attempt to snoop again after an offical warning by the atlantian authorities

here comes the plastic

only the 1 pic atm and im not sure how it will look iv never butchered err i mean altered a ship before

its 1/700 scale

Ooooo!  Give me some more background on your ship and I can help you decide on her weaponry.  You can take it to PM if you'd like to maintain secrecy  :)

changed my mind over the guns (il need another 600 scale bismark kit though!)

moved the 3rd turret forwards for clearance (il need to move the 2nd turret back for the same reason)

rough plan view may well change

Certainly some steroid use around this ship.

Bigger, bulkier.. now with more 'roid rage.

Great stuff

If you need some ideas take a look at this build over on Model Warships.  He cobbled it together from random spare parts and multiple kits to make an entirely fictional yet extremely visually interesting "mega BB".
