Great work on the gun positions.. but no Breech loading Parrotts or Dahlgrens as the heavy hitters ?

Great build.. it really is just getting better.
I have filed a few ideas away for future piracy of your idea >:D

My God man!!!  Where were you when the Floaty GB was underway?!  ;D

Can't wait to see this one finished.  Its keeps getting better and better.  LOVE the dockside scene and the especially the little steam tug on the ramp.

Have you done water before?  If not let me know and I can show you some easy methods.

I could say that the only thing missing right now is "Nautilius" from "The League of Extraordinary Gantelmen" docked in neighbourhood but even now it looks purly fantastic  :D

Hi Folks

Thanks for the comments!

In the meanwhile, the painting is on its way!

As for the "water", it will very very simple. I will just be using a very shallow layer of Vallejo Water Effects - Transparent water.

Thanks for looking!

P. S. - I received my Pegasus Nautilus this weekend. Guess what will be one of my next modelling projects! :)

Awesome - totally love it, both ship and shore   :-*
Is one thing to see potential of inverted hull.  But figuring out right things to do in good balance-proportion would be challenging.
Congrats on figuring it all out  :)

Thank you guys!

The dio is complete. Please find below some photos of the evolution until the "final product."

After all these "final" photos, I noticed that the ropes were still missing, so here are two more, with that detail fixed :)

And that is all for now!

I was a very fun project, and I hope you also enjoyed it.

Any question, please feel free to ask!

Take a look at Cliffy B's post in the back bar. The vintage pics include one of a Civil War ironclad that is strikingly similar. Great minds think alike!

Wow indeed.  All the paint applied in the right places brings that model to life and it looks so convincing.

 Indeed - marvelously subtle weathering.

I think the ironclad in the photo above is the USS GALENA, a handsome vessel, but not generally considered a success...

Seriously, seriously good! Awesome build, man! :D

PS: Regarding the USS Galena, I get the feeling she wasn't clad in enough steel (note the holes in, & the shot wedged into her hull in the photo).
