Hi all,

Mr. Jeffry Fontaine kindly invited me to show my work here at "Beyond the sprues". My name ist Roland and I live in Germany. I like building Tanks and sometimes an aircraft. This is my first "What if" built.

The fictional history in short:

After the great success of the Isreali M 51 Isherman the soviet political high command decided the show "The west" that the USSR can do the same or even better. The organised a M4A1 Sherman hull, planted a T 55 engine into it plus T 55 suspension and running gear. A T-34 turret with a 122mm canon was mounted. But test showed that the turret interior was too cramped and firing the gun caused cracks in the hull roof. So the whole thing was scraped.

Please excuse my bad english.

Some really nice details on this one - I really like how you've cut out a hole in the M4 for the T55 exhaust! Does the crew put the tank in neutral before firing the main gun? :-)

That is fantastic !!! What a great idea done with perfect execution !!!  Welcome!!!  Welcome indeed !!!  I can't wait to see what you do next. Why don't you inter it in our Desert Group Build. The Russians never have been much on using any kind of camo. Just say its with a unit in the Gobi Desert patroling for Chinese incursions. Remember how they used to fight there ?

I am not frequently building "what if" models. This was my first one (Is a Warhammer kit also "what if"?). I do have a basic idea for a next one, but I need a cheap kit to do it. I prefer to built my "What if models" in a manner that it could be at least a prototyp in real life. It should get a Mythbusters "Plausible". ;)
I hope you understand what I mean.

Roland

Hi Roland, from our perspective the WH40K qualifies as what if and even if it did not it would still be welcome here on BTS so feel free to share your work here on anything you are building.  :)
