Anyone got any good techniques for making hovercraft skirts?

On small models you can make a Milliput "sausage" and put creases/strips in it when it's semi-dry, but I imagine that wouldn't work (or would at least use vast amounts of Milliput) on something bigger than a few inches across.

I thought my T-34/85 H was pretty good - see my thread in the '46 GB. "All THings Floaty" GB ( Should've modelled me 'ead!)

I built this, the Dragon Hovercraft APC from the Starfist Series.. well my take on it anyway. It is 1/48 using a 1/35 Modern AAV as a basis

I used electrical conduit tube as a basis

To even up the longer tubes with the elbows.. I split more conduit lengthways, cut enough to clip over, then filled with Autofiller to blend it all together
Ended up like this

Filing the PVC conduit and the foam installation methods away for future use.  Both are pure genius.

Thats some brilliant execution. AAV-7s are hard to whif too, so excellent concept too  :)

They used the minesweeping rig on the later, but smaller, BH7 hovercraft, as well as using it for anti-submarine trials. The last BH7 is at the Hovercraft Museum along with the last two SRN4 Mk 3s.
