Now that a 1:48 kit has been announced, it might look really good wearing one of Richard Chafer's schemes.

While it did have some weapons capability, exploring the possibilities of COIN and CAS with the L-29 would be intriguing.

It was a quite robust design, so seeing the L-29 reworked to that job similar to how the T-37 was reworked to the A-37 is not unimaginable.

You could also take that a bit further if you combined the failed single seat aerobatics variant with the L-29 which had the sensor and reccon pallet. between the freed up space in what was the rear cockpit and the sensor pallet, there should certainly be the room to accommodate a laser designator  in the front end of the pallet.

Single seat variant:

As you can see, making the single seat version would not involve much more than painting over the rear canopy section and maybe making an internal bulkhead.

Maybe stick a bit more powerful engine into her and a couple of extra pylons under the wings and you'll have an eastern Dragonfly counterpart.

AvantGarde.   The same people releasing the Kfir in the same scale.
They showed the CAD drawings yesterday on their Facebook page.

I do like the L-29, i have one built for my cartel airforce as a cartel trainer with teeth, the other one in my stash will probably be something similar with a load out of light bombs, rocket pods and a couple of gun pods from a Hind.
