Physical Modifications:

Ju 290 with tricycle gear via longer nose. Need to figure where is the C of G is?

As a rough estimate you can 1/3 of the wing chord or the thickest point on the wing as CofG location.

You'd probably have to move the wing aft or extend the nose to get a good cg for a tricycle gear (cg has to be a bit, but not too much, behind where the wing quarter-chord line intersects the aircraft centerline).

And as he said in his post, he was looking at a "Ju 290 with a single tail like the Ju 252 or He 177". I am sure the photo included was for illustrative purposes.

Except of course that the model in the photo is a Ju 290 as it would have appeared as an airliner,
which as it happens was the original intent of the derivation from the Ju 90.
