A little while ago, we bought an aircraft book for our eldest son Mitchell, with a difference: it had a press out cardboard plane you can build in a folder with it. Hmm, nice thought I - and put it on the shelf until he was ready to build it. Well, today he did - and what I didn't appreciate at the time of purchase is that it actually has a 40cm + wingspan!!

Train well, young ninja :icon_ninja: for you will inherit the realm of styrene and resin.

This is where we all started out at one time in our lives.
The question becomes when he becomes your age. Whose stash will be bigger?

Nice work by the lad - what was the book ? I've got a nephew of about the right age
-
Very nice young man! Keep it up!
-
That's very cool and most well done!

My compliments to the young man, most beautifully done. Going from memory, I don't know that I could have done as wwell at his age.

Here we go, with a few more pics of the plane, and the book it came from!

Good for him! :)

Here's one we just completed together, to teach him about different paint effects.
A subtle Whiff, with stabiliser strakes, and a small gun ranging radar pod.

Cheers guys! The old Airfix Mk.IX makes a pretty good instructional airframe to teach little'un the basics. Also, as luck would have it, the first issue of the new Airfix mag has an article all about painting the new Spit, which we used as inspiration. Now getting endlessly nagged for the new MK.1...

My compliments, that's most definitely better than I could have done at that age. He's definitely going to be impressive as he gets more experience.
