A PT6 conversion would be awesome, and a good choice. The PT6 is to turboprops what the RR Merlin was to liquid-cooled piston engines; bazillions produced, well-proven, and part supply would be easy.

Hmmm... Spitfire with a PT6?  ;D

You would want to use one of the ‘big’ PT6s, probably a -67 or -68 variant given the power comparison.

Allison-powered Mustangs in USAAC pre-WW II markings with yellow wings and blu or OD fuselages?  Perhaps some fuselage trim akin to that done on the P-26?

Turbofans can be beneficial in reducing noise and, with a mixer, thermal signature.  TSSAM did a good job of mixing the core and fan flows for reduced thermal signature and the mixer had an LO coating for all aspects "Stealth".

It came out great! I thought some of the details were "exaggerated for wargaming", but I looked up the real tank and it looked like this.

Man, I would have killed for those Air Police decals.  Mine looked like the other set after a month in the south facing window.

Carl -- Good to see you building this one in this configuration.  If I were organized and had my Shinola together would have a jig like that.
