and I was so impressed I thought I'd build his wingman and here'tis.

I've been puttering on and off with doing something like this with the Revell X-15.

I couldn't agree more! Les never ceases to amaze me! This one really hits on all cylinders! Love the weathering too!

You know, I've got plans to do something similar with a 1/48 DH-4. A GB for this might not be a bad idea...

Of course one can't forget post WW2 land fighter racing.  Was an exciting and creative era in racing.

Yep, magnetic shaped-charges were a major problem for aluminium aircraft doing 350km/h at 15,000 ft. ;)
