Almost done - All I need now is to glue the windows in, add the spare, the decals and do some weathering. The Vallejo paints are great and I don't think I'll need to give it a coat of matte finish.

I think the red headlights are wrong, but that's how they came with the kit and by the time I noticed how odd they looked, they were glued in and painted:

8 spare magazines, two 40mm grenade containers, a box with for the spare .50 cal barrels and a 5L fuel and 5L water can:

I also tried it with a second set of doors (as seen in Jeff's Sketchup drawing) but I'd have to paint them to match:

Looking good Frank!  Even better than that 3D kit bashing I did on SketchUP.  All that is missing is the personal gear and some pogie bait and it would fit right in with any convoy traveling through the badlands.

Finished! I did only a little bit of dirt, mud and weathering.

The warnings next to the gun mount say "STAND CLEAR WHEN GUNS ARE FIRING"

Black decals on a dark camo pattern are hard to read, especially under the dirt and mud:

It reads "NOTHING PERSONAL JUST BUSINESS"

Graffiti reads "How's my shooting?"

Thanks for all the comments!

And thanks for Jeff for sending me the M55 kit. It motivated me to finish the M998 kit that had been languishing for months. This was a really fun project!

With the light weathering that model looks very convincing.  Was glad to assist with your project.

Fabulous inside and out.  And right, it is a heck of a street sweeper.  Fire power is right on.
When are you traveling the country giving model building classes?

I'm gonna go hide behind the couch until that thing drives past.

Outstanding Frank! The weathering is just right and the warning and graffiti gives it a nice personal touch!

If only I could get guns like that on my Chevy Cavalier. It would make my commute easier.

Thanks guys. I really enjoyed building this. I've been tempted to post it on a "real" site like Armorama.

You oughtta post this beauty over there, Frank! Come up with a suitable designation (HMMV-AA14) and before you know it, you'll have guys claiming they spent five years fixing the things ("...we found out the suspension wasn't robust enough for long-range patrols...").The hijinks will be worth it!

Agreed!!  Though I'd argue, from experience, that LA freeways are equally deserving.

It would be handy around here too.  The highway system in and around Seattle-Tacoma is horrible.
