Ekranoplan A-90 1/144 Zvezda
« on: September 09, 2020, 03:22:00 AM »
Let's just say that this is airplane because I have no idea in which category put it :D

The ekranoplan model is ready and I wouldn't be me if I didn't make it weird :D  Of course I gave him polish markings and camo based on Mi-14 camouflage. Because I wanted to make it in flight from the beginning, so I had to make propellers in motion too. The model fit was good, although sprues were rough. I've painted it with Mr. Hobby range and all dirt is MIG products. Chipping is made with sponge and MIG paint. Water is a product designed for railway models, HEKI. I changed it's base colours a bit.
Hope you'll like it :)

Gorgeous! Of the great build quality that we've come to expect but those spinning props are icing on the cake! Excellent choice of scheme - your 'Haze' pattern and colouring looks wonderful on the A-90

Thanks :) Spinning props turned to be quite simple. I found a blog where one guy was showing whole process of making one:

Beautiful, particularly with those spinning props.  It's clearly a Baltic patrol aircraft that's part of Poland's contribution to policing that sea.

What a cool beast!  Love the camo.
The spinning props, the wake left by the wing tip and the in-flight display really convey a sense of speed.
Cheers,
