I was hoping to attend this year but cancer treatment (my wife's) & an impending 2nd grandchild have put paid to that plan.

Warning: it gets just as hot, if not hotter down south.  At least the humidity is usually less though.

Yep, Melbourne has had more than it's share of heatwaves. I was in Tassie for almost twenty years and Sydney before it but Queensland is a weird place. The rain knows one type: deluge and all my workshop is covered in heavy rust from the humidity. I managed to get to the Ipswich Model Show last year, that was pretty good and some awesome builds there
