Aside

My scenario:   The Norwegians get Sea Vixens.   They remain in active service past the acquisition of their F-16's for whatever reason.  Maybe the Russians really disliked lutefisk and threatened to bomb the living daylights out of any lutefisk production facility.    ;D  (no, not really.  We Norske's are yoost a lille-bit craysee).   They get boosted Skyflash missiles.    With different seeker heads.

But I know little to nothing about the weapon other than that I glued Sparrows to the bottom of my Blue Angels Aurora Phantom model back before I was 10 years old.   Do I ever wish I had that kit now!

Well, a suitable booster for Active Skyflash would likely also be finned (compare the Bendix Eagle of the F6D-1 with it's Phoenix replacement/descendent.  For a better missile, perhaps the seeker from Active Skyflash, or the Aspide Mk.2 with active seeker, mated to the an air-launched version of the RIM-162 ESSM, http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/m-162.html .

Perhaps such an aircraft could also serve as a trials aircraft for the Meteor missile in Norwegian service?

Obviously an Active Skyflash: it might have been semi-active before, but I bet it's fully active now.... ;)
