Well I know I shouldn't since we are off on hols in a couple of days but here is a start.
I've cut one of the doors out, just the boot, the other door and the inners to go.

Hi all a small update on this

I used copper wire for this which I think is a bit too soft the door sags when opened so i think I will have to change it for some other sort of wire, I also think I need to move the hinge further back on the door so it clears the body better, but quite pleased for a first attempt at opening a closed door.

Hi all last update for a week as on hols in the morning

Uprated the door hinges, no sag now
thought I better check clearances with the internals, as you can see only about 1/2 a mill clearance, that's a lucky one.

given her a coat of primer so she will have a week for that to fully cure

Hi all, well ive had to change the hinge as it interferes with the inner panel, then guess what the inner panel dosent even fit (opened a whole bag of worms here) the inner panel is so far out I have loads of scratching to do ( I think revell didnt worry too much about the interior since the door are supposed to be shut so no one will see much of the interior, the rear door pillar sits at a diffrent angle to the door, ti dosnt reach the roof ( there is a gap of at least 1/8 of an inch) the front part where it joins the root of the window is about the same amount of gap, wont be doing this again in a hurry.

Wish my cars builds were moving half as fast as yours, they're pretty-much stalled at the moment. :icon_crap:

Hi all well after a lot of retouching and smoothing I've got the dash on the Shelby satisfactory, its not great but it will have to do, I've made some break pipes from the sevo and added the vacuum pipe (not sure where it fits on this car but its usually on the inlet manifold somewhere)

Hi all not one of my better efforts TBH I'm thinking bin time.

Do you have any idea of how that makes me feel, when I know that none of the three 1/24th cars that I am currently trying to build (& which are murdering my modelling mojo in the process) are not going to be anywhere near as good as this? ??? :icon_crap:

Sorry case of opening my gob before engaging my brain. I've been doing some weathering on the engine bay I started to think all this work on the engine and engine bay and you wont see any of it when its finished so, I thought, what about an engine hoist and doing it with the engine being removed, now my question is would it be possible to remove the engine and gearbox complete or would I have to separate them (which would then mean making a flywheel and bell housing and the splined shaft for the gearbox, also what else would be removed to get the engine out, I assume the injection system?

incidentally OW I've tried looking them up where are these builds that are supposed not to be as good as this.

Not for public viewing. Well, not yet, anyway.

2 of them are for my daughters, the other is my experimental piece, & I have no intention of doing more than OoB.

When they're finished I may post some pic's but not before.

Hi all, here is the last update for a long time on this one

really not happy with this so I think I'm going to box it up and shelve it for a while, before I throw it at the wall, cant put my finger on whats turning me off it, I think its just the fact that nothing on it is really up to a standard I'm happy with, the paint job is not shiney enough the engine is really not one of my better weathering efforts (certainly not up to the bike standards) the door shuts lets face it are laughable and I've found out the doors open inside the wings not as I have them, it just all adds up to a piece of rubbish (yes it can all be rectified (fairly easily)) but the shine has gone off it for me and if I force myself to finish it I can see it taking a flying lesson.
Sorry OW if it make you feel bad, but I bet yours are better than this anyway.
