HMSPG - High Mobility Self Propelled Gun
Latest project is from research into 8 wheeled trucks for the leftovers from the tracked Centauro, however it turned out what I created was to big and heavy for the Centauro suspension.
The suspension is from DML's Sd. Kfz. 234/4, cab is from Dragon's NATO MLRS, center section is from Trumpeter's JGSDF Type 82 NBC Detection Vehicle, the rear section is a Dragon Ferdinand TD hull, cut and flipped upside down, and the tires are from Monogram 1/24 High Roller 4x4's. The main gun is scratch built.
A few more small details and then its under the airbrush she goes. Still thinking colors, grays are current choice.
Thank you for looking, all comments welcome, they only make me a better modeler.

Looks like it is almost too large to get a complete shot of the thing in one image :)

Intriguing combination of parts from different scales to achieve something that looks quite purposeful.

A very sharp looking build - great imagination for a most original design.  I really like it!  :)

Do you draw/sketch up plans first or is this all straight out of your head?

That is so right.  It really looks like it could be the basis for a whole series of systems - Air Defense, Logistics, Communications, etc...

With a coat of primer, it'll look like it's all from the same kit, I'd imagine.

Stunning work!

I like the design but do wonder if the turret is big enough.  I am assuming it is meant to be an unscrewed turret?

Thanks Claymore.

Thank you GTX
The turret is supposed to be an unmanned auto loader, with two five round ready mags in the main body, with the ability to reload those while on the move. The three crew in the cab never have to exit the vehicle until they need to reload the main mags at the rear.
Not sure what "unscrewed turret" means.

Another exemplary example of what "KITBASHING" means here at BTS. :)
Parts from several kits not intended to fit with each other, toss in scratch building too and have it looking so RW right.

Wicked! Creative! Love it!

I was stick on the first 2 photos...and thinking "there is NO WAY that a DML 234 is that big!" Then as I scrolled, the story was revealed!

That's a great project - really credible.  :)

That would be easy to make in 1/72nd with the Academy M977 kit and some plasticard. You might also imagine a very similar conversion used as a riot control water cannon truck with a different paint scheme and mesh screens.
