1941 Willys MB 'Jeep' 37mm M3A1 Portee

Inspired by the pre-war maneuvers.

The first attempts were apparently (at least by the photos below) the gun and it's trail legs-less cradle plopped onto the back cargo bed.


From what I've read, this was unstable and was followed by a pedestal mount without the M1917 Browning watercooled.





That sounds like low-hanging do-able fruit to me.

I think the 37mm is the Bf109 of the 1/35 armor world. There are some jeep conversions in there but most seem to be the more reasonable Dodge WC:
