having built the bridge, seem only fair to build the spaceship.
Pretty much out of the box

Another beauty!! I really want to take one and "backdate" it to match the configuration shown in the two pilot episodes.

The original 18-inch long AMT S921-200 U.S.S. Enterprise kit (U.S. $2.00 in 1967, $15.63 in 2020) with 25 parts came with lights, wire contacts for two AA batteries (not included), clear green plastic Bridge & lower dome parts in "tall box" scripted with 1964 TV pilot-based "Star Trek" font it - the font - not seen till restored pilot aired on October 4, 1988. I didn't buy it though many moons later bought one with kit box art unlike any other AMT Enterprise issue prominently featuring the electric lighting system. To date have been unable to find any Internet post describing what I'd seen, could it had been a very limited run box art marketing test meant for "kiddies" ?! My first "fully built & painted" AMT kit wasn't till 1977, decent build unlike the Star Trek The Motion Picture Enterprise disaster some years later. First issue AMT Enterprise kits are like 1959 Barbie dolls: overpriced, overhandled, over-worshiped amongst collectors, not that easy to build as well particularly fastening warp engine pods on lower hull.

Somewhere in, I think, my remote southern stash, I've got a box of 10 or 12 of those original Enterprise kits picked up for $1.00 each back in 1979 at a store similar to Big Lots'.

Wise investment!
