with all those individual track links Object 279 is going to be a good contender for a Russian hovertank conversion.

with all those individual track links Object 279 is going to be a good contender for a Russian hovertank conversion.
Candidate platform for the hovercraft conversion is readily available with real rubber skirt from the Trumpeter LCAC Hovercraft kit and the 1:72nd scale LCAC is now on sale at Squadron :)
-
the Panda Object 279 is out & built on Missing Lynx ...... ok apart from crude & inaccurate surface finish on the front :(
Priced at AU $44 + shippng from HobbyEasy.
Seems the Amusing Hobby kit is the same mould, perhaps less the PE fret.
Walkaround of the real vehicle here ....

wonder why, the old Zvezda BMD-1 is quite ok. Now a BMD-3 would be interesting as they were used by Libya.

And the box art already has it in Australian Army scheme... ;)
-
Finally! Now maybe I can put one of those 60mm gun tubes to good use. :)
-
I'm getting this one for sure! I wonder...paving the way for maybe a new Sheridan, or, an XM800?
-
I love Buford!
-
Take my money!
-
Very nice! The M8 is definitely on my want list! :-*
I read something within the past year or so that suggested the M8 was once again being considered for the light tank uh, mobile gun system role. I’m not betting on that but I guess you never know.

BAE Systems has offered a modernised version of the M8 for the US Army Mobile Protected Firepower infantry brigade light tank requirement.

More information on the M8 AGS/LT > Wikipedia > M8 Armored Gun System (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M8_Armored_Gun_System)
I was under the impression that Panda would be offering the M8 AGS with the additional ERA package that was proposed for operation in higher threat environments. Perhaps that will be seen as a second kit?
