Actually, a good Swift in 1/72 would be something I'd welcome, too.

I've not heard anything too negative about the XtraKit Swift

Actually, I didn't hear much about that kit at all one way or the other. It entered the market rather quietly and with little fanfare.

I wonder if having someone other than MPM do the tooling and molding had something to do with the quiet reception. As I recall, the Xtrakit Swift, Scimitar and Canberra were all done by Sword.

Sword did not pursue issues of any of those kits in their own boxing whereas MPM reissued several of the kits they did for the Xtrakit line under their Special Hobby banner.

Without Sword making their own editions of the kits and marketing them in the fashion that MPM would, perhaps the lack of market exposure undermined the kit.

a reasonably priced 1/350 or 1/700 or something i can afford. i know of the 1/350 Iron Shipwright model but at 325 that is a bit too steep. i also know of the little 1/2500 scale or so ships for war gaming but that is just to small and thestill want almost 30 bucks for those, just way to much to justify for me. as one of the most requested ship models in the fine scale modeler survey for the last ten years you would think some plastic companys would listen.

Dear Airfix:

I'd like a new tool 1/48 Generation 1 Harrier series including the AV-8A because I'm a hopeless Yank.  :)  Yes, at the level of your lovely Sea Vixen and presumably the Javelin too.

Dear Dragon/Trumpeter/Tamiya/etc...

Please make all the ships here in plastic in 1/700 AND 1/350 scale.

http://www.hnsa.org/doc/plans/index.htm

Whatever ships you chose Trumpeter, make sure you get the hulls correct!!!  98% of those plans are complete so no excuses!!!

Thank you!

Both Italeri and Academy are working hard to fulfil that wish this year with models of their own.  :)
