Finally have a working computer again. So thought I'd post the latest WIP image of my polar Sub dio.

Is that two subs in there?

Yeah looking to add an escort for the boomer. Subs still need to be finished, been working on my Vietnam river dio instead

That's a phenomenal display!
I'd be so tempted to recycle it for a Nautilus for some Ice Station Zebra style.
You really captured the look & feel of what lurks deep beneath the North Pole.

How about a small hole in the ice with some seals and a polar bear? They would have to be pretty tiny.
-
Well done. Amazing stuff.

Thanks Fellas

Half of me was kidding and the other half was hoping you would do it!

What scale are the subs? Is the ice from a kit or scratch built?

Scale is 1/700. Ice is made from modelling clay I found at Riot Art. The case is for 1/18 cars

Thanks.
Given its 1/700, any polar bears shown would only be a couple of mm long/high anyway.

Nice idea.. this sort of" in environment" displays work for me.
I tried it a few years back with the HMS Vanguard SSBN launching a missile submerged.
-
Very interesting, great idea!

Very cool idea :)

Thanks fellas.
Normally I'm finished with my entries for the local show by now, but have been a bit slack this time around. Still needs a bit of cleaning on the case, but Deep Benath the Polar Ice with Dmitriy Donskoi (TK-208) and Tigr (K-154) is done.

That would turn heads at any show worthy of the name.
Most excellent!
