Title: 1/144 Lockheed F-19 Stealth Fighters.
Post by: TimJ on July 12, 2014, 11:34:08 PM
I built these earlier this year. As the kit only has decals for one aircraft I had to raid the spares box for number two.  :)

First up, OOB with the kit markings.

I decided on a 1970's RAF scheme for the second one.

A final shot of the two together.

Hope you like them.

I really like kits that are a whiff right out of the box.

Choosing to make one as a RAF bird was truly inspired!

great job  :)

i have built 2 of these myself, its not the best kit out there and the fit is horrible.
i dont really like the size of the cockpit, it seems very small for a fighter, but if the canopy as painted over, it would make a great UCAV :)

Both are good looking models, the RAF one especially.

The Testor's F-19 "stealth" plane  came in 1/48 and 1/72 so it was probably reduced to 1/144 for Revell of Germany. The 1/72 version looks unrealistically small to me, especially compared to the F-117. It looked better "Rescaled" to 1/144. Maybe these would work at 1/200?

These kits look to be scaled-down versions of Arii's "tweak" of the Testor's 1/48 kit (I've got both single- and twin-seat versions of that kit from before Testor's successful suit got them removed from the market) and are also boxed by Heller.
