Millennium Falcon by Chris Foss? You decide!
« on: July 25, 2017, 03:51:40 PM »
Hi guys

Sorry for not posting anything for a long time, but life has not been easy :(

And on top of everything else, Photobucket, as everybody knows, decided to screw half the world.
So basically 11 years of messages in different sites went down the drain...

Now I am trying imgur, among other alternatives.

But enough whining, and let's get down to business!

Here is my idea of what would the Millennium Falcon look like, if it was created by Chris Foss.

It´s the Revell easy pocket kit, by the way.

And that´s all for now. Thanks for watching!

You forgot the star! :o

There's ALWAYS a star on a Foss spaceship! ::)

However, on a serious note: Very good job. Like it a lot! 8)

Isn't that a bit too symmetrical for Chris Foss's work?  Beautiful job, though; it would fit right into one of the "Terran Trade Authority" books that came out in the 1980's with his artwork.

Foss or Babylon 5?  ;)

Probably B5, Foss would've had a bit of red but there would have been bright orange & yellow to offset the overall darkness.

I vote for B5. Foss never created / used backgrounds like this.
Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

True, he generally went for stars & nebulas (nebulae?).

how about Foss inspired B5?

Antonio - that's the most interesting and best use of a Falcon I have seen to date! Seriously awesome work

Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments!

Unfortunately I never watched a single episode of Babylon 5, so can't honestly say.

But if you say so, I believe :)

It's a rare thing indeed to see a Falcon in such an eye-catching scheme!

Most excellent, Antonio!

Wonderful build!  :-*

How did you paint this? Are the stripes brush-painted or did you use an airbrush and some sort of masking?
Cheers,

Thanks!

The painting process was real easy:
1. Base painting with airbrush (free-hand orange, yellow, red and pink areas)
2. Black pattern with classic brush.
3. A final overall dark wash with oils, to pop out all the nooks and crannies.
4- Let it dry thoroughly :)

Thanks for the heads-up, Antonio!  :smiley: That's some pretty darn tidy brushwork on such an irregular surface.  :-*
