There has to be
some
1/32-1/35 land use for these engines. Rat Rod Deluxe of some sorts perhaps.

Aero-engine specials were built post-war, the Liberty V-12 powered
Babs
probably being the most famous
Brit example.

Babs
was originally
Chitty Bang Bang 4

The US
White Triplex
(three Liberty V-12s) was probably the closest to a 'rat rod'.

In 1950 Jot Horne and Norm Taylor built the
Airoadster
, a '27 T-roadster powered by an air-cooled Ranger inline
six from a PT-19.
Prop driven sleds, including a Sikorsky circa 1912:

Prop driven cars. I think you'd want a contra-rotating rotary for something like this

And if you do build a racing car with a 1/32 engine, don't forget to pick-up a 1/72 kit of a WWI plane to use the wings as aerodynamic wings for your race car!
