A Panzer III with Panther turret and some bits more. Gun downgraded to 60 mm

OK, fixed! :)

Never came across any writing about this.  Anyone seen a book or articles about M8 in combat?
Was it great for its intended use?    Mediocre?    Poor?
Appreciate info on that.

Hunnicutt's Armored Car book covers it. I don't have it in front of me, but as I recall, it did pretty well. Of course the 37mm cannon was nothing much by the end of the war.

The M60 turret on the Centurion hull looks great.  :) Would be pretty cool to see how the Israelis upgraded this.
Cheers,

Talos --- Thank You.
Would not be slaying Panzers, Panthers, Tigers.  Though wonder how well it was used to best of M8's abilities (or not).

As I recall, it was used extensively for scouting and other recon work, which it was very good at. Very mobile. It was used as a command car by commanders too, as was the turret-less M20 Utility Car.

Did you say up gunned?

What about this?

BTW: turret must be a narrowed version.

Having into account the movility problems AMX-30 had in the beginning, this is IMO perfectly plausible.
BTW, AMX-30's turret is that big. :D
