Sopwith Pup refurbishment
« on: April 04, 2024, 07:32:04 AM »
Hi all

Number four in the series of Five backlogged kits ( there is actually a sixth, but that one is going to take some time to construct so I'm discounting that one)

This is a refurb of a previously built Sopwith Pup that went into my folks loft when I got married. I found it amongst a box of completed kits when I restarted the hobby again.

It is probably one of the last kits my dad brought me, so it had some personal provenance and despite being dusty and battered with a missing propeller I decided to refurbish the kit rather than scrap it.

To replace the prop I purchased a spares only kit off ebay which gave me not only the prop but also a set of decals. It also gave me some replacement struts when the wing detached during the refurbishment.

Here's the pics

The kit is finished using AK Interactive paints applied by airbrush.

Decals are a mixture of kit and home made.

All comments and criticisms gratefully accepted, as always

Wow - That's a fantastic refurbishment. The linen color looks great and so does the rigging.

Thanks guys.

Should have looked at the pics more closely before I published them, I can see some bits I missed when I was doing the final touch up :-[ ;D
