Merging Bismarck and Wisconsin. I particularly love germanized turrets :)

Dunno how you do it, each one is "right".

Thank you!

This is, more or less, my idea about a post WWII Battleship, equipped with guns and missiles. Perhaps with nuclear capability.

Really really cool stuff!! Hope to see more!

Yes, cool stuff 8)
What would those 18 circle things on each side of superstructure be ?
Vertical launch for ?

^^^^
I do not know. It is in Moskva's drawing. Deep charges, maybe ???
My drawing is mainly based on Scharnhost and Moskva, at same scale.

Properly, the Bismarck should be merged with the North Dakota class, not Wisconsin. ;D

dear ysi_maniac, usually I don't visit naval topics (I like only aircraft) but the current Floaty GB made me come here and see. And what a great surprise! :-* Your mix of ship and tank(s) made me dream of a similar Lightning flying boat! Thanks a lot! And congratulations again for this idea of yours! ;)

anxious to see your ideas. ::) ???

Fortunately, I found in my collection a P-38 already with caterpillar landing gear, so it has been easy to draw the one with a flying boat hull you made me dream of. Thanks again!

Do you think tandem wings would improve the weight centering?
And how many thousands would have been ordered by the US Marines in 1943? ;)

Some years ago I got a junk Trumpeter 1/350 Sovremenny soviet destroyer. She had not hull, but the other parts look very nice: superstructure, turrets, missiles ... So I am thinking in buying one of those old Frog/Novo/... 1/415 HMS Tiger to combine pieces. I like result of my study. And you?

-
Agreed the up gunned County looks very nice.
Been thinking what may look ok and be a bit of a play on actual events, would be a British cruiser front with a pair of Mk26 6", Tiger superstructure, topped off by a Type 984 radar and a Long Beach aft and mid section, including Talos, the nuclear propulsion system and provision for Polaris. Same concept that saw Dreadnought being built with basically a Skipjack rear and the R class with their US missile sections.
These ships could have started out planned as the UKs nuclear deterrent instead of the Polaris submarines and evolved into flag and fleet air defence ships with the Polaris spaces used for Tartar. thinking of doing something along this line with a Revell Tiger, Shapeways backdate conversion and a Dragon Long Beach

What about a post war version updated with helicopter deck and missiles?

Always thought the Yamato would suit an American style weapons upgrade given that it already had a hanger deck at the rear. Would make a great whif.

Submarine Battleship. in a certain way it could be like a 'BIG' Surcouf https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_submarine_Surcouf (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_submarine_Surcouf)
Submarine Aircraft Carrier.

Alternative main artillery for Bismarck.
Insert: What I considered turrets could look with all big guns german designers considered during WWII, they also considered 2 gun turrets only.
In this line, I envisaged posibilities to intall them on a Bismarck hull. 15 inch is included for comparison purposes.
(http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j340/ysi_maniac/drawShips/bismarck_AltGun.jpeg) (http://s1080.photobucket.com/user/ysi_maniac/media/drawShips/bismarck_AltGun.jpeg.html)

What if HMS Hood à la Richelieu (top), alternatively a more british option with bits taken from KGV
(https://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j340/ysi_maniac/drawShips/Hood_Richelieu.jpeg) (https://s1080.photobucket.com/user/ysi_maniac/media/drawShips/Hood_Richelieu.jpeg.html)
-
Interesting profiles. What would be two medium looking turrets to stern of à la Richelieu style ?
Suggestion: How about a 80s-ish modernization like on Iowa class ?
-
Nice work!
Been planning a build like that for several years, a Nelson with to quad 14" from a KGV forward and either 6" or 4.5" secondaries. Superstructure would be moved forward to provide space for significantly enlarged machinery, rear facing hangar and stern mounted catapult. The idea is a mid 30s battlecruiser to counter the Deutschlands.

What if a HMS Belfast equipped with 2x2 14 inch torrets (KGV's narrow turret). A kind of British pocket/compact Battleship

Two alternatives to install 2 quadruple 14 inch turrets (from kgv class) in HMS Hood. Old secubdary artillery is deleted and main turrets of HMS Belfast are intalled instead.

In these ideas I am mating Airfix 1/600 Moskva and Heller 1/400 Lenin. So a kind of scaleorama.
As what I like the most in Moskva is funnel, resulting projects must be powered by conventional means.
1. Civil icebreaker powered by steam turbine
2. Militar icebreaker equipped with anti-aircraf weapons
3. Militar icebreaker equipped with anti-aircraf and anti-submarine weapons
There are probably errors in armament ... never mind! My aim is aesthetics and coolness

The British/Soviet combo is a VERY common thing with the Indian Navy. Maybe they buy the Victorious after the British have just upgraded, then decommissioned it. Then a later refit can add the Moskva style island.
Cheers,
Logan

Kind of soviet Scharnhorst. Continuing obssesion with 14in quad turrets.
This study is for a project that includes 3 models in diferent scales
1. Revell 1/570 Scharnhorst
2. Airfix 1/600 Moskva
3. Zhengdefu 30 cm Sovremenny. Resulting scale is 1/520
All four drawings have the same armament approx: 2 quadruple tuurets and a newly designed turret equipped with 3 SSN missiles. You see here possible conbinations accoding 2 indepent issues: superstructure coming from Sovremenny / Moskva and chase / balanced config. Chase config means gun turrets on A and B location and missiles turret in Z position and balanced config is gun turrets on A and Z positions and missiles in B location,
