Very nice collection! Do you have a personal connection to the NP air wing or just something you picked out?

only wing/Carrier where I could get enough codes for the number of aircraft.  Even then, the NP markings on the A-7A are from an A-4 kit, although the Squadron (VA-146) shown on the A-7 was an A-7 Squadron

Very cool, but may I suggest that the deck crewman behind Crusader 210 is gonna get cooked standing there?

These are all excellent - I especially like the damaged one.
Never trust a man who tells you that you have too many paints, for he is obviously a liar and will most likely try to deceive you again in future.

Following on - the shelf below in the display cabinet is now a "Hanger Deck" (on a different carrier) where F-8 Crusaders and A-7 Corsairs undergo checks before being moved topside:

NM Hanger 3 by David Freeman, on Flickr

NM Hanger 2 by David Freeman, on Flickr

NOW, i know on a "real" carrier all would probably have wings folded, but only 1 kit allowed that option.

The aircraft are:

NM F-8-2 by David Freeman, on Flickr

200 and 203 from VF-194

NM F-8-2-1 by David Freeman, on Flickr

NM F-8-2-2 by David Freeman, on Flickr

100 from VF-191

NM A7-1-1 by David Freeman, on Flickr

NM A7-1-2 by David Freeman, on Flickr

NM A7-2-1 by David Freeman, on Flickr

NM A7-2-2 by David Freeman, on Flickr

300 and 307 from VA-153.

When I can get the light right - I'll add a picture of the cabinet with both decks and the "lights" on

I don't think I've ever seen so many Vought jets together in one post before.

Great stuff!

Very nice

The multi coloured tail decals, I've got a sheet with something similar, for a Viking IIRC. Did that squadron re-equip to those at a later date ?

Kitnut,

The Squadron with the multi-coloured tails is VF-194 - which is a fighter Squadron (Fighter Squadron 194).  A Viking Squadron would be VS something, so I doubt it.  Perhaps just adopted similar markings.

Quite often some squadrons had "rainbow"markings on their tail - particularly the rudder - of their "CAG BIRD"(often their 00 aircraft, 100, 200, 300 etc).

I assume most are aware of the Air Wing numbering system?
