The Irony Mk I - Finished!
« on: November 18, 2014, 04:57:56 PM »
Hi folks

Welcome to my new recycling project!

This time I gave PC mice a little rest, and turned my attention to something more manly...   ;)

So the works have begun!

This has some influences from the Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K ZBV3000) universe, but with my personal twist.

Eat your heart out, Hasegawa, with you pricey little kits  ;D ;D ;D

hmmm... Looks remarkably like a Cylon tank. Sort of a land-based Cylon Raider.

But that's just me. :)

There are terrific shapes everywhere you look

Great vision. Looking forward to what you do with it.

Is one thing to keep in mind for next summer.
Now when I see an iron, will take a second look.

My tongue-in-cheek side suggests giving it wings and calling it "Iron Eagle" after a set of hokey films.

So many ordinary things have cool shapes that could be made into something else. Trick is to see the potential in an ordinary object. Antonio, you have the knack for it!

I'm guessing hovertank or similar, as per the Ma.K Nutcracker (previously known as the Nutrocker due to a translation error). :)

At first I thought of a aircraft or space vehicle with the Orange lens in the front for a windscreen

Now that you mention it, that does have a look of the forward hull of a Romulan cruiser from ST:TNG.

Hi guys

Actually this was a innocent recycling of a broken iron.
No perfectly working irons were harmed in any way in the making of this model :)

As for the inspiration, I confess it was originally the Hasegawa Nutcraker.
But this design has been growing on me, and viewed from some angles I think is actually way cooler
and aesthetically more appealing that the original.
Call me a fool, but that's my opinion ;)

This is how it currently looks:

I engraved some pannels to add more texture diversity. I this hard working with this ABS plastic, I can assure you!!

Since the whole design is not yet finished, significant alterations still may happen. Almost for sure... :)

Thanks for looking!

Cheers

Antonio

Hi

Yes, the whole project is 1/48, I forgot to mention.

The figure in particular is an old Tamiya Swordfish pilot.

Thanks for watching!

That pilot better duck when the hatch closes or he's going to have a headache!!!!!
Best part of this project is it doesn't cost anything.

Unless the pilot's seat rises & lowers with the canopy! ;)
