After Silver Fox's Canadian Type 702 class transports story, I became interested in looking for a sleek transport plane that can takeoff and land on the ships in his story.
Then I came across this (http://www.testpilot.ru/russia/bartini/svvp/svvp70_e.htm).
It sounds pretty ambitious, too. A VTOL ASW or transport plane with four liftjets. I wonder how many AMRAAM/Meteor/R-77 missiles can be fitted inside its internal bay if configured into a missileer......
Granted, I would also need to find a scenario to make it remain viable in Western civil market long enough for that story to happen with it......
