boosted shuttle and sodas ... Re: hybrid aircraft/animals and others

you might remember this tribute to two of the great american contributions to the world culture :

I don't think I share this one with you, a bit older :

a 1/144 Space Shuttle crossed with a bottle form a well-known sweet soda brand :

and I thought it deserved to be appropriately boosted, so after some thinking and considering different possibilities, i finally opted for a bottle of Rivella (a delicious swiss lemonade, hard to find anywhere out of Switzerland and a bit of Germany) :

Beautiful!!  The orbiter has its gear retracted when it's mounted on the external tank, but other than that, a superb piece of work that I can just see as the basis for an advertising campaign.

thanks!

I have thought about the landing gear indeed : I first did the Shuttle self-standing, and rather than breaking the wheels, I finally use them for attachement and positioning : best of both worlds, kind of  ;)

P-38 and Cerberus three-headed dog Re: hybrid aircraft/animals and others
« Reply #205 on: April 30, 2015, 04:10:54 AM »
I finally got around to build something like a Tophe idea!  :o

There was a discussion somewhere about a P-38 with sharkmouths, with a mention of cerberus three-headed dog,
and I found a cerberus figurine which seemed fine for such a treat :

and I used a HobbyBoss P-38, cheap but surprisingly clean, and funnily designed with two half-airframe, upper and lower ...

and here is the hybrid (in yellow ;-) ):

ah it might have been a possibility, and it is a usual pattern in my whiffing to make exchanges between two sources, but in thi case it went a bit differently ;-)

I was pointed to this recently : a nice bash indeed, on the topic of insect/car hybrids, in the pat of this thread there are several ones

fabulous hybrids, I am deeply impressed, thanks for sharing!

I have been considering bats, but I guess they look a bit sinister to me  ;)

For my hybrids I use smaller animal figurines : maybe I could try and think bigger?

back to bottles, as the weather increases thirst ...

I had this kind of bottle of Grolsch

for which I thought about an appropriate triplane :

and here is the (yellow) baron of beer bottles :

And this one is very true (machine of the Yellow Baron? nicknamed Red Baron only by the Communists?): I recognize perfectly the "aerodynamics" of 1918... ;)

I am  currently busy with another project involving the tail fin remaining of a Berviev Be-6 from my previous things : something quite hybrid, also involving a 1/32 Mosquito ... wait and see

the mystery of the Be-6 tail fins will have to last a bit more, because of paint layers issues ...

but here is the magnificent 1/32 Mosquito powering a bottle of wine from Argentine (not bad either)

this wine bottle didn't bring many reactions : maybe people on this forum prefer beer?
in this case they will soon be contented  ;)

Sorry, the Notify tool did not work, while I love your new blue one, so wonderful... :-* :-*
Realist modellers may have a broken heart, thinking you "wasted" a huge 1/32 DH Mosquito hero to celebrate drinking, but as far as I am concerned, I clap my hands! ;)
(I don't like wine nor any other alcohol but I love your hybrid smiles)

I did miss this one eric, again interesting and unusual (and I like blue).

Lookign forward to the Be-6, should be a whale of a good one I think.
