If that isn't based on someone's actual memoir then somebody at Master Box has waaaay too much imagination.......

You guys have it all wrong. This is clearly Masterbox's interpretation of Homer's "The Odyssey", Book XII, where Circe warns Odysseus about the sirens.

"'So far so good,' said she, when I had ended my story, 'and now pay attention to what I am about to tell you- heaven itself, indeed, will recall it to your recollection. First you will come to the Sirens who enchant all who come near them. If any one unwarily draws in too close and hears the singing of the Sirens, his wife and children will never welcome him home again, for they sit in a green field and warble him to death with the sweetness of their song. There is a great heap of dead men's bones lying all around, with the flesh still rotting off them. Therefore pass these Sirens by, and stop your men's ears with wax that none of them may hear; but if you like you can listen yourself, for you may get the men to bind you as you stand upright on a cross-piece half way up the mast, and they must lash the rope's ends to the mast itself, that you may have the pleasure of listening. If you beg and pray the men to unloose you, then they must bind you faster. "

Looks like they are based on the Resident Evil "zombies" (note the bloke in the middle with the tentacle-y things coming out of his mouth).

Resident Evil Alice on a motorcycle and some Zeds!  It is about time that someone got around to addressing the zombie apocalypse/dystopian future in 1:35th scale.  Though that one zed does bear a slight resemblance to Ron Jeremy in drag it is all good

Master Box 1:35th scale Zombie Hunter - Road to Freedom (kit number 35175) first look courtesy of Michael Benolkin and CyberModeler.

Now that the kit is out and according to a source in Canada (yes Alvis 3.1) who has had the opportunity to inspect the contents there is no motorcycle included :(
MB does give you a list of candidate motorcycle kits from a variety of manufacturers that will work with the "Alice" figure.  The Zombies are clean enough to use as regular people if you do not want to pose them as zombies.  So the kit fulfills more than one purpose but for those Alice fans that were looking for a 1:35th scale Alice figure in action I guess this is the kit to have.

Hmmm... severely limited choice of modern bikes available in 1/35th. The box shots on the MB site show just two (Tamiya Japanese and Dragon US despatch riders) and they're both small trail bikes that would struggle to carry much weight. The zombies are in modern clothes, so you couldn't set it in WWII to match the Zundapps/BMWs/Urals/Harley 45s and why would a modern survivalist pick a 30-40 year old bike?

A couple of solutions:

1. Use the Harley 45 and customise it, the story being that it's the rider's labour-of-love project and she's not abandoning it, no matter how impractical it is.

2. Use one of the Russian BM clones (Ural/Dneipr etc..) with a sidecar and claim that it's a modern import. Urals are still in production and you can still buy them in the UK. The sort of oddball individualist who'd buy one precisely because it's old and simple, might well be the sort who'd be prepped and capable enough to be a zombie apocalypse survivor. Oooh, there's a story: maybe it's her father's bike. He was the eccentric prepper who taught her this stuff as a kid, she rebelled, he got old and didn't survive 'cos he was frail, but she's now using his equipment and supplies as intended. Hollywood, over to you........... ;D

The Urals are also sold in the U.S. and Canada and I've seen a couple contemporary Harley
customs dressed as pseudo-WLA 45s. That's another route, use a Harley WLA 45 kit and
build her a custom ride, after all Harley's haven't really changed that much in appearance
in the last 70 years.

There are also 1/32 scale 'diecast' bikes out there that could be used as a starting point.

Harley WLA 45s themselves were popular as custom bikes in the days when no Harleys were really reliable: they only became less popular (along with iron-head Sportsters) after the "evolution" bikes came out in '86. You still see them around though. The WLA's lower, flatter engine is particularly suitable for chops becuase it doesn't force the headstock to be so high.

Bronco do a Triumph 3HW. No more modern than the others of course, but it's different, and could be the basis of a retro-chop:

Tamiya do a BSA M20 as well.

and if you wanted to be ironic, there's always these of course:

OR, since the classic zombie movies were set in the 1970s, you could always use one of these, er, man:

Okay, tearing my eyes off the pinups for a moment, that Austin armoured car is all kinds of useful for what-if, steampunk, dieselpunk etc... There were a whole bunch of similar "twin-tub" bodies built on different chassis so you could use it as the basis for all sorts of credible-looking whifs from the subtle to the outrageous.

Wrong scale. :(

I know - I wish they would make their fantasy/SF kits in 1/35 as well. I just emailed them asking if they would re-scale them to 1/35.

I heard back from Alexander Surzhenko, the Director for Master Box LTD.

"Regarding "Space port" series in 1:35 scale, we have not thought about this yet."

So maybe email them and ask?
