Add maybe Arado 196 floats to the bottom?
Uh? What is the relation between a P-38 and an Ar-196? Here it is!:

No:
- I "will need" nothing because I am not an engineer, endangering the life of pilots, I am a dreamer, "could" should replace "will";
- "really really/real world" is not my focus at all, I prefer dreams;
- the weight of my P-82 is not above 25,000lbs but below 1lbs, this is not a huge machine, this is a little paper/screen-picture (or maybe a plastic toy someday).
Thanks anyway... ;)

Here is the Acreelidated PBY82 Catalistang (thanks!):
This Catalistang is different: Wuzakidated PBY83, from an idea on the other forum.

Tophe,

You misunderstood what i was saying.  I meant merely an interpretation of what you had already done, like this:
Slide1 by cacree, on Flickr

I was merely musing about the possibility of creating it in plastic.  If you don't mind, I might make a better profile version when I find more time...

I am very glad this misunderstanding made us invent one more! Here is the corrected one:

Is this a floatplane? or/and a flying boat with parasol wing?

You hit on an exceptionally neat concept, Tophe!

A float plane P-51 seems like an idea with limitless potential.

Your imagination is simply off the charts, mon ami!

How about a P-82 mounted above a PBY Catalina hull?
My posts of Feb.11th and 13th were about that P-82 above Catalina/hull, what different could/should I do?

OOPS! I should have looked another page farther back before posting!

However, what if the regular Catalina tail was retained and the P-82 fuselages were cut off just behind the wing? Or same style but use a P-38?
Now I have the urge to buy a Catalina kit!
