Thank you all, gent's! :icon_alabanza:

The front & rear hatches are finished to the same level, now.

Left-hand side to do next. :-\

No photo's right now but progress is happening.

I've got all the hinges on & working but the hatches still aren't sitting down properly. However, I have an idea that involves the failed hinges I have sitting around to rectify that (little spring catches).

I, also, have the control boxes for the hydraulics fitted to the front of the trailer - with working hinged covers! ;D - & all the armour plating is on. Just need to fit all the bolts (140-150), now.

Unfortunately for my sanity, I'm now looking at the guard-van & thinking about how I'm going to fix the hinges on the rear hatches with an eye to making them functional. :blink:

I'll try to get some photo's up soon.

Ciao for now! :)

Have you tried 1mm diameter nemodium (?) magnets used by the flying model fraternity to hold your doors closed? ;)

Nope but the "failed hinges" plan is working nicely (as of last night/ early this a.m.). ;)

Sleep? What's this "sleep" of which you speak? ???

"Failed Hinges" plan still working but longevity is going to be a serious issue.

May have to try the magnets later.

Build is almost at the fully-primered stage, now - maybe tomorrow & maybe some photo's.

Well, just to keep apophenia happy (after all, he has given me 2 builds on the to-do list), we have photo's of where I'm at;

Unfortunately the hinges & the latches are somewhat weak &, at this point in time, I don't know how to fix that, nor do I have the inclination.

It's past time to get this build finished.

I just have to put the cover plates in the cargo trailer & paint her up, & she'll be done ....

.... for now. Until I find the energy to come back & fix up the faults, build the cargo & the new forklift, & do the weathering.

Cheers! :icon_beer:

Frank, it's just going to be a sabatical, once I've done the main paint scheme & put the wheels on, then she'll sit in the display cabinet until I get the inclination & time to do the jobs mentioned.

Definitely needs wheels and paint and weathering and . . . . . . finishing. ::)

So, after 8 1/2 days with our land-line &, hence, internet down, I can report progress on the Armoured Vehicle Front!

Paint has happened!

ASLAV based scheme using Tamiya XF-78 Wooden Deck Tan, LifeColor UA 091 Dark Green (as the light green - go figure! :-\ ) & Tamiya XF-58 Olive Green (as the dark green). Not the actual Army colours but, then, they're going to be Marines vehicles when finished, so a bit of variation is OK in my universe.

I have been tossing around the idea of adding a 4th colour (Tamiya XF-52 Flat Earth) as another point of / obvious expression of difference to RW vehicles, but I'm beginning to feel it will look too crowded if I do that.

Anyway, photo's are still uploading to PhotoBucket - quite a few of them, actually. So, when that's done I'll chuck in a photo's-only post for your perusal.

Cheers! :icon_beer:
