Welcome to BTS Terry!  Looking forward to seeing more of your work here.

As it took only a quick chat session on FaceBook to convince Terry that he was sorely missed and next thing you know he joins up.  Sadly the same can not be said about another missing member that we knew as "Captain Canada" and later as the "Toadman."

Thankyou for the welcome....

The Bat Dakota or Bat-Dak served in Korea to frighten the NK/Chinese troops...but it was frightening everyone with its beating outer batwings, fiercesome nose with cannon, and general mysterious appearance. It was based on a concept developed by German scientists (who else!!) who developed huge bat creatures who were merged with machine (He-111,etc). Note the scales on the upper fuselage, wing and nose joints. The model is 1/72nd.

More recent stuff soon....

I've seen my share oddities, but that....my mind is reeling.

You used a rubber bat for the wings, I take it?  ( and welcome, Radish )

Thank you.

Yes, rubber outerwings and the same for the nose...the rubber head off the bat.

Currently I'm working on quite a lot, including a number of "Biggles" related items....such as an Air Police Wellington in yellow. All my Biggles stuff is based on either an illustration or something in the text.
A previous Biggles display with yours truly and wife (my minder).

One of the Biggles models was that which transported Air Vice Marshall thingy to the Far East in something or other. They landed on a dark blue painted floating teak airstrip!!
He flew in on a Marauder transport....this is one image I have to hand....Revell 1/72nd kit.

I also do wierd armour, like this German Tortoise Tank, crewed by Meerkats.
The Tortoise came from a garden centre, resin and cheap; Panther turret from a Tamiya 1/35th kit; figures from various 1/35th kits, minus heads which are replaced by meerkat heads from Schleich Meerkat pups. They fit perfectly.

In this view, the crew commander is talking to the tortoise, whilst the other crew either hang about or do stuff.
The tortoises were specially bred by Nazi scientists and frightened invading troops in 1945. They were bred to be carniverous and often ate the dead bodies of the battlefield.

:-* Belated congratulations for this Bat Dakota. This inspires me such a P-38, that I will draw for my gallery, thanks!

There some new genre of armor like mechanical walking and anti-gravity hover here lately.
Never would have thought of this genre. But trained giant tortoise with their hard shells makes perfect sense as long as an army is not doing a blitzkrieg.  ;)
