Hi guys
Happy 2019 to all of you!
I decided to end 2018 and begin 2019 by building and painting a model entirely from a 3D printing.
The model was downloaded from thingiverse by a friend of mine who owns the 3D printer and does the printing.
Let us call him my personal shapeways :)
I had just asked him for a simple thing to print, and had no idea what he was bringing, so it was a surprise for me.
And here is the result of my mini-marathon:

I got the parts from the 3D printer on the 31st, around 11:00 AM, and the final photos were taken on the 1st, at approx. 19:00.
Is it perfect? Very very far far from it!
But my intention here was to test the whole process from one end to the other. And I was quite satisfied!
Did not bother to invest time in smoothing out the surfaces or scratch-building additional components.
Fine adjustments will be incorporated in the next projects, since this will not be, for sure, the last.
Thanks for watching!

Is fine no excuses necessary.
What did you do to get recessed lines dark ?
Add bunch to appearance.

If that's a rush job, it's still a beautifully done piece of work.

Well done, very well done indeed!

Nice. Although when I read the subject, I was expecting an M41.

That looks great! The printing artifacts can be waved away as being the equivalent of Zimmerit.

I was thinking the same thing. Nice build!

Thank you guys!
So zimmerit it shall be!
A different approach to the classical "bug turned into a feature" trick :)
To get the recessed lines dark I used the traditional oil wash (a very thin mixture of black with burned sienna).
