Luck - Skill - Planning - all of the above - shooting 16 F-4s is no easy task - for are start 32 Aircrew are going to be really miffed if you screw up - I used to take 2 camera bodies medium format and 35mm - no margin for error - the shadow on the field - luck

Halberstadt Cl.II forced down in 1918 & delivered to Australia as a War Trophy. This is one of two of this type we received (along with at least 10 other A/c) and may be the one given to Tasmania in 1922.

The (mostly) Italian Piaggio-Douglas PD-808, one of three ECM versions of the aircraft, built for the Italian Air Force in 1968. It certainly has some 'curb appeal' to my eyes.

Note: The original Griffon Mk 88 engine was not available for the restoration so a similar Griffon Mk 58 was substituted. The original contra-rotating propellers were likewise not available so propellers from an Avro Shackleton were substituted although the propeller blades were necessarily shortened to 10ft.

Owned by Stonehenge Air Museum.

Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg unveiled a restored Lockheed L-1649A "Super Star," initially delivered in 1957. After extensive restoration efforts, it will be displayed at Frankfurt Airport in 2026 as part of Lufthansa's centennial celebrations.

One of my favorite planes! When I was 4, my Dad was finishing a model of the Super Constellation (probably the Revell 1/128) and he put it up on a high shelf in one of the closets before he went to work, telling me not to touch it. Of course, I touched it - took it out to the empty lot next door and flew it around, until a couple of the props fell out... so I quickly put it back on the shelf. When he got back, he was not pleased... we both went out to the field and recreated my "flight path" and luckily for my behind, recovered the props.
