Great photo (and an intriguing recovery rig attached to that tail!
I find that identities of Ilmavoimat aircraft during the Continuation War get confusing (in this case the new yellow ID band probably covering the aircraft number). One of the Facebook commenters suggests that the aircraft pictured is FR-121, crash-landed at Malmi on 14 July 1941 after suffering battle. The pilot was given as
kersantti (Sergeant) Aaro Nuorala of 2/LLv 30. [1]
The issue is that most sources show LLv 30's 'Red 1' as FR-129. One poor-quality photo of FR-121 shows a '2' on the rudder. (Profiles and model decal sets suggest that, by Dec 1942, FR-121 had become 'Yellow A' of 2/LeLv 14).
So, does anyone know for sure which airframe is in this photo? (Or which bits of the above - all from internet sources - is incorrect?)
