Nils's Digital whatiffery
« on: September 23, 2012, 08:48:58 PM »
sometimes, when im planning new builds, i make concept profiles or Flight Simulator repaints to help design new model ideas.
i have made a number of profiles to help make models of them, here are just a couple of them, there are plenty more from over the years of course  ;D

these are 3 concepts for an alternative Cold War, where the Communist Soviet union overran Europe.
these profiles werre made about a week ago, depicting a MIG-29A from the People's Socialist Republic of Belgium Air Force (PSRB)
i had an idea for 2 roundel style's, but i cant make up my mind on witch one.

one is inspired by Yugoslavia, one from Russia and the other an own design (sorry, forgot to resize these).

this one came to me in a dream a couple of years ago, and im hoping to build it as a model soon  8)
an RAF MIG-27, in the dream, i was on an airport when 2 of these 3 squadron Flogger GR.1's landed to refuel.

this one also came to me in a dream about 6 months ago, a post-soviet Netherlands AF MIG-23, in my dream i was standing next to a runway in The Netherlands and saw at least 50 of these aircraft take off and do a flypast overhead.

and here are some more made over the years.
some are already build as models, some are going to be build and some might never see the light of day.

on the bench:
-various models

on the drawing board:
-various 1/72 TinTin aircraft
-1/72 Eurocopter Tiger (Belgian Army)
-various other 1/72 and 1/144 aircraft

Sure is an awful lot of Belgian stuff in there!  ;) ;D   I know what you mean about doing a profile before building something, oddly enough I usually only do it when I going to paint one of my RC planes, when I'm doing models I tend to fake it. Enjoyed seeing your ideas in a digital format  :)
